A useful extra HAN path
A suitable Mini can extend HAN reach between meters. Check the Mini can communicate with both the comms hub and gas meter, then confirm the gas join and commissioning results.
Conceptual network only. Routes are selected examples, not live signal measurements or confirmed device behaviour.
Find a place that serves both connections
Compare three starting positions. Walls, enclosures and the actual layout matter more than a neat midpoint.
Start near the electricity meter
For normal Mini setup, Octopus recommends close to the electricity meter, ideally within about 5 metres, while maintaining home WiFi coverage.
Keep the Mini powered. Bridging multiple Minis is assessed case by case.

The Mini is connected and working. On first setup, app data can take up to 60 minutes to appear.
Work through the evidence
Keep the app path, local gas join and supplier metering route distinct.
